Maybe it’s because I’m writing this from an airport and would LOVE to be in my own bed right now, but I truly believe a master bedroom should be a retreat. Single, partnered, parent or pet-parent, your #masterbedroom is where the day starts and ends – and don’t we all need those times of the day to be restorative!? This client wanted to keep their main furniture pieces, but overhaul the look of the space into a comforting sanctuary.
Every room needs a rug and window treatments (IMO!), and a bedroom is certainly not the place to forget those big details. Both wrap the room in visual (and literal!) warmth. Custom draperies were in a neutral-yet-textured fabric, finished with two-finger pleats on the header, and hung touching the floor for an extra-cozy look. The wool area rug is a lux, deep teal colour that adds a pop of colour, echoed by the bedside table lamps. Finally, muted tone-on-tone wallpaper along with metallic artwork and accessories provide just a touch of shimmer, creating depth and a desire to fully embrace the end-of-day routines, and snuggle in.
What does your dream bedroom look like? Making your master retreat a priority causes a huge positive impact on your day-to-day, so don’t keep dreaming about it – make it a reality!
